If You Feel Trapped In Your Job – You Are Not Alone!

Do you feel like your job is sucking the life out of you?……………

You’re not alone, millions of people feel the same … so here’s the problem

You’ve spent years working your way up because that is what was expected of you.  If you decided on your career path 20 or 30 years ago, its more than likely that it’s not still a good fit for you

Or worse still you didn’t even chose your career path, it was chosen for you by your parents.

The thinking back then was that you  study hard, get a good job and work your way up the ladder to get everything your heart desires:

  • Owning your own home,
  • being able to create a great life for you and your family and provide them with the best you can afford
  • having enough money to do what you want.

Sound familiar?

However the reality is something quite different……..

It’s more than likely that you’re feeling unfulfilled and despondent in that once promising career.  The passion and drive you once had has disappeared with the repetitive processes disciplines and politics day in day out.

The whole process is slowly sucking the life out of you.

But you are working in excess of 60 hours a week so whilst you may be providing for your family you have little time to spend with them.

The only answer is to work harder climb further up the corporate ladder in the hope of earning more and retiring earlier.   But that means more time away from family and friends, less time for yourself and the thought of being shackled to that way of life paralysis you with fear.

You feel totally trapped.

Retirement is a double edged sword because you dream for the day you can retire (and do all the things you long for) but the thought of having to endure this with no passion or drive for years doesn’t bear thinking about.

You want to be able to doing all the things you desire NOW.

You know there is something else out there, but unsure what it is or where start looking for it.

I know exactly how you feel, I felt the same but the good news is there is a solution….

But let me ask you a question?

If time or money were out of the equation.  What would you really want to do right now?

I’m not talking about all these ads you see with people leading a lifestyle with mansions, yachts, flash cars etc, that’s all hype and actually in reality most people don’t  want that.

It’s about doing things you’ve always wanted to do and a lot of the things are not even down to money……… its time that is the major factor.

  • Learning to play golf/tennis/an instrument
  • Learn /painting/dressmaking/model making/dancing/horse-riding.  There will be something you’ve always wanted to learn to do but never had the time. To master anything takes time.
  • You want to travel and see the world for more than 2 weeks at a time.  At a time that suits you not your boss.
  • Spend quality time with family and friends instead of spending most of your time with colleagues you are forced to be with who you don’t care about and who don’t care about you.
  • Avoid the crowds in the shops, and in the gym …… go in the quiet times.
  • Prepare healthy meals and have time to experiment.
  • Get involved with a voluntary organisation and do some good for a cause you really care about

There are a whole host of things you might want to do if you put your mind to it but over the years they all get forgotten in the race to climb the corporate ladder.

  • No more commuting?
  • No more endless boring meetings, listening to those who love the sound of their own voices?
  • No more early morning alarm clocks, maybe even early morning flights?
  • No more micro managing?
  • No more having to take time off at times to suit others?
  • No more pointless personal development plans which are just a tick in the box exercise?
  • No more biting your tongue to stop you saying exactly what you think?

For me it’s simply not having to dance to someone else’s tune and I can do what I want when I want.

In order to gain freedom you have to find a way of breaking away from the traditional job that pays  a salary for your 40-60 hours working week.

With the skills you’ve learned over the years and your ability to promote and sell (you’ve been promoting and selling yourself successfully for years or you wouldn’t be where you are now)……….the way forward is to be entrepreneurial and start your own business.

There are different business models you could look at and here are 4 options that could give you the freedom you desire….

Franchise models can be a great way to start a business as you are guided and trained throughout the process.  It is a process with all the rules and regulations set out for you from the beginning which limits the risks.  They range in price from $20K to $millions depending on your niche.  You will be able to find a niche that you are interested in.

The downside to a franchise:

  • The initial pay-out can be high with fees and start-up costs.  In most cases you will need staff and premises
  • There will be royalty payments, you have to pay the franchiser some percentage of your monthly turnover
  • Your creativity is stifled as you have to stick to their rules
  • You are limited geographically

In essence it’s not much different to having a job as your freedom is limited and you have to rely on others.

An FBA business model allows you purchase products and Amazon will store your products in their warehouses, fulfill orders and even provide customer service so you don’t have to be hands-on with every aspect of the business. And of course you can use their customer base.

You can focus on finding product opportunities while Amazon handles the rest on your behalf.  The downside to this is that you have to spend a considerable amount on product.

This model is where you find customers for a product and the wholesaler ships the product to the customer on order.  You don’t have to purchase huge amounts of stock and when the wholesaler ships the product to your customer he only charges you for the product. The profit margins can be low so you have to have large volumes of sales which can take time to build up.

Affiliate marketing is the most popular and my favourite. Affiliate marketing is when you refer people to a product or service and get paid a commission for doing so.  There are millions of products and services out there that have affiliate programmes.  Finding products with a high level of commission is by far the best way.  For example to make $100000 a year marketing a product with a $1000 commission would mean you would have to find  100 customers per year as against if your product paid a commission of $50 you would need to find 2000 customers.  You have to remember that there will be a cost for your advertising which has to be taken off your income.

The most important thing, if you are considering any business online is to get the right education.  There are lots of skills needed but once you have mastered them your future will be secured.

If you are interested, the Six Figure Mentors & Digital Experts Academy  is where I started my education and they are continuing to help me grow my business. They also provide products with commission in excess of $1000.

They provide a digital marketing program created to take any level of experience through the stages step by step, with full training support and backup.  I started with absolutely no digital skills, and quite frankly without an online education I would not have an online business.

Life’s not a dress rehearsal, and I don’t know about you but I find the older I get the quicker time passes.  In my 20’s I felt I had all the time in the world, but the clock is ticking and you owe it to yourself and your family to make the most of it.  It is possible in the digital economy to have time and financial freedom, there are thousands of people doing it.

It’s your choice!
